The total value of the project: 8,888,891.80 lei (1,836,737.64 euros), of which 7,053,136.64 lei (1,457,410.20 euros) is the non-reimbursable financial support.

OBJECTIVE

The general objective of the project is the restoration and refurbishment of the Pittner School for cultural purposes and its enhancement through cooperation with the associated partners in order to develop cultural management.

The monument, which is in an advanced state of degradation, will benefit from major repairs both in terms of restoring the architectural elements and providing the necessary utilities.

Moreover, the implementation of the project will lead to the development of cultural entrepreneurship by organizing the activities proposed by the project and the capitalization plan and will contribute to the development of bilateral relations between the countries of origin of the partners.

The restoration of the Pittner School contributes to solving one of the most acute problems facing the community of Resita, namely, the insufficiency of cultural units, equipped to modern standards, to ensure access to a quality educational and cultural process.

The rehabilitation and functionalization of the building will have the role of:

  • recovery of a valuable architectural element of heritage;
  • making a cultural building available to users of all ages;
    urban development of the area in which it is located;
  • encouraging cultural partnerships.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The cultural activities started from the beginning of the project with the role of announcing the rehabilitation of the building and to familiarize the inhabitants of the city with the idea of the rebirth of this building. As they cannot take place inside the site, their location will be first the street and then the cultural centers of the area where the building is located.

After the restoration, the building will host local events that will help both revitalize the historic monument and improve the management of cultural heritage, by bringing it back to the attention of citizens. Local events will consist of film screenings, concerts, restoration / painting workshops or theatrical performances.

Workshops

Following the completion of the restoration of the building, when it opens its doors for cultural activities, Pittner School will host a minimum of administrative space, vocational training workshops, a central social space, a photography museum, a classical and a virtual library.
